On Monday, April 16, 2007 @ approximately 3:30 PM, I officially proposed to Amanda! The ring came via FedEx so we trucked our way to the South Boston FedEx sort location (not so easy when half of Boston is closed for the marathon) and picked it up! Once we got it, we ran outside to the car, ripped it out of the box, then I dropped to one knee and placed it on Amanda's hand! The scene was a rather gloomy day in the romantic FedEx parking lot -- not much to be desired but still a day I'll never forget.

Pictures to follow . . .

as you can probably already tell from my previous post, these stuffed animals (or 'the guys' as they like to be referred to as) can be extremely pushy. the other night amanda and i were minding our own business when beeg (the chunky purple heffalump) demanded that we take him to the club. long story short, we took him and the others to the club and decided we'd video tape them cutting a rug. enjoy!

so the official date is April 26, 2008! if you did the math, that's less than 1 year from now! unfortunately, our stuffed heffalump, beeg, has been complaining that he's not going to be in the wedding party. instead, we had a photo shoot with him just to take his mind off things.

we are in the beginning stages of taking pictures. who knew it'd be so hard to take pictures of a ring!!

This site has been nothing short of awesome. As some of you may know, this is the site where I wound up purchasing the ring from. We initially had some consultations at Tiffany & Co. which is where Amanda picked out which cut and band she liked. The ring she picked is called 'Novo'.

The Novo by Tiffany & Co.

As one would expect, the ring comes with a fat $$,$$$ tag since it comes in the little blue box stamped Tiffany & Co..

After picking this style, we went to www.bluenile.com which has TONS of info about how to buy a ring, what all the jazzy terminology means, etc. In addition, they have a relatively sophisticated site, secure purchasing procedures, and did I mention no tax if shipped to a state other than Washington? All in all, we were able to purchase a better quality diamond for roughly 40% the price, pay 0% in tax, and free overnight shipping. They're also extremely accommodating and discrete with shipping to help keep the ring a surprise. It's nice to see a solid web 2.0 store that has both a quality user interface but also informative and thought out service offered.

on sunday, april 8, 2007, at approximately 1430 hours, we picked out the most beautiful ring in the whole world. if you're looking at this, you'll probably be invited to the wedding. see you this time next year!
